Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026

Version 2026-09-04 — read the archived copy of this exact version

If you create a BookIQ.ai account now, this is the version that applies to you, from the moment you create it — it is the text shown at signup and the version recorded against your account. If your account already existed on 4 September 2026, this version takes effect for you on 4 October 2026, at the end of the 30 days’ notice section 10 gives for a material change; until then the version that applies to your account is 2026-07-27, which you can read here.

What changed in this version: section 4 said that after a cancellation you can export your data at any time. No part of BookIQ.ai exports all of your data, so that sentence promised something the product does not do. It now names what does exist — a full copy of your data on request, under Settings → Privacy & Security → Download my data, actioned within 30 days. Nothing about refunds, cancellation, the 30-day annual guarantee or your rights under the Australian Consumer Law changes in this version.

The short version

  • Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no credit card required. You are not charged during the trial.
  • Cancel any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again.
  • Annual plans carry a 30-day money-back guarantee: ask us within 30 days of your first annual charge and we refund it in full.
  • Monthly plans are not covered by that voluntary 30-day guarantee — the free trial and cancel-any-time are the protection there. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law still apply, on every plan.

1. Who this policy covers

BookIQ.ai is operated by PairOx Pty Ltd, an Australian company. This policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for a BookIQ.ai subscription you buy from us — the Free, Pro and Team plans. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

It does not cover money a business takes from its own clients through BookIQ.ai — deposits, invoices and booking payments. Those are between that business and its client, and are governed by that business's own cancellation and refund terms.

All BookIQ.ai subscriptions are purchased and billed through our website. We do not sell subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

2. Your free trial

Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial, and we do not ask for a credit card to start it. During the trial you get the full features of the plan you are trying, and you are not charged anything.

If you decide not to continue, simply do not subscribe — your account stays on the Free plan and you are never billed. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund. If you do subscribe, your first charge is taken when the trial ends, and the rest of this policy applies from that point.

3. How billing works

  • Paid plans are billed in advance for the period you choose — monthly plans each month, annual plans each year.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, to the payment method on file, until you cancel.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
  • Prices are shown before you confirm, and any applicable taxes are shown at checkout.

4. Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel at any time, on any plan. Cancel from Settings → Subscription & Billing inside BookIQ.ai, or email support@bookiq.ai from the email address on your account and we will do it for you.

  • Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not take effect immediately.
  • You keep full access to your paid plan until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • After that date your account moves to the Free plan. Your data stays with you — you can keep using BookIQ.ai within the Free plan limits, and you can ask for a full copy of your data at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Download my data, which we action within 30 days.
  • Cancelling on its own is not a refund request. Apart from the 30-day annual guarantee below, we do not pro-rate or refund the remainder of a period you have already paid for — except where the Australian Consumer Law entitles you to a refund (see section 8).

5. Annual plans — our 30-day money-back guarantee

If you are on an annual plan and BookIQ.ai is not right for you, tell us within 30 days of your first annual charge and we will refund that payment in full. You do not have to give a reason.

  • The guarantee applies to the initial annual charge for a business — the first year you pay for. It is offered once per business account.
  • Later annual renewals are not covered by the voluntary guarantee. You can cancel at any time before a renewal date to avoid the next charge.
  • We refund to the original payment method. We cannot refund to a different card or account.
  • When the refund is issued, the paid subscription ends and your account moves to the Free plan. Your data is not deleted.

This is a voluntary commercial guarantee that we choose to offer. It is in addition to — and does not limit — your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (section 8).

6. Monthly plans

Monthly plans are not covered by the voluntary 30-day money-back guarantee. We think that is fair, because a monthly plan already has two protections built in:

  • You can try the plan free for 14 days, without giving us a card, before you pay anything.
  • You are never committed for more than one month — cancel any time and you keep access until the end of that month.

So on a monthly plan we do not refund a month you have already started, as a matter of our own policy. This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law — if the service has a problem covered by the consumer guarantees, you may still be entitled to a refund or another remedy, on a monthly plan just as much as an annual one. See section 8, and talk to us.

7. How to request a refund, and how long it takes

Email support@bookiq.ai with the subject "Refund request", from the email address on your BookIQ.ai account, and include:

  • your business name and account email;
  • your plan (Pro or Team) and whether it is monthly or annual;
  • the date of the charge you are asking about;
  • and, if something went wrong, what happened — it helps us fix it.
  • We acknowledge every refund request within 2 business days.
  • We decide and tell you the outcome within 5 business days of receiving everything we need.
  • Approved refunds are issued to Stripe immediately and normally appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
  • If we decline a request, we will tell you why, in writing, and explain how to take it further.

If you think a charge is wrong, please contact us before asking your bank to reverse it — we can almost always resolve it faster directly, and a chargeback can suspend your account while the bank investigates.

8. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.

These consumer guarantees can apply to business customers as well as individuals — generally where the supply costs less than AU$100,000, or is of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use. BookIQ.ai subscriptions sit well under that threshold.

Nothing in this policy, in our Terms of Service, or in the 30-day money-back guarantee excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Our voluntary guarantee operates in addition to those rights. Where this policy says we do not refund something, that is our commercial position only, and it never displaces a remedy the law gives you.

9. Price changes and plan changes

  • If we increase the price of your plan, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the new price applies to you. If you do not want to continue at the new price, cancel before it takes effect and you will not be charged it.
  • If you change plans, we show you exactly what you will be charged before you confirm. Moving to a smaller plan takes effect at your next renewal — you keep the plan you have already paid for until then.
  • If we discontinue a plan or the service, we will give you reasonable notice and refund the unused portion of any period you have paid for in advance.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If a change is material we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in the app before it takes effect. The version that applies to a refund request is the one published when you were charged. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
